Stupid questions advisors ask

Uncategorized May 18, 2021

Now that the Sleepy One has finally realized what we all knew for months, I am happy for most of you who will once again experience the freedom we in the free state of Tennessee have had for some time.

But still, be prepared for the occasional woke SJW who will have no hesitation in asking you about your private healthcare decisions.

Here's how I respond: "I'll forgive you for asking if you forgive me for not answering."

Of course, stupid and intrusive questions get asked all the time. Here's another one:

Do you know anyone who might need our financial advisory services?

Dumbest question any advisor can ask, especially of a client.

Suddenly, instead of the relationship being about the client, it's now about you.

The irony is the best way to get a referral is to never ask for one directly in the first place.

In the upcoming edition of the Profitable Advisor Letter, I lay out the steps for attracting real referrals, not just names and phone numbers, without ever having to ask for them. It's a proven strategy that works across all industries. And it's one your VEN-DERZzz will never teach you.
